U.S. Marines and Sailors with 2d Marine Division (MARDIV) participate in the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccination on Camp Lejeune, N.C., Feb. 8, 2021. The vaccine was distributed to maintain medical readiness to 2d MARDIV’s leadership in preparation for a deployment to Twentynine Palms, Calif. Marines will continue to practice safety protocols to diminish the risk of COVID-19 throughout the Marine Corps. A recipient of the vaccine had this to say, “My uncle had COVID-19 and he being a civilian, I want to support him and help the civilian sector, this would be the way.” Another said, “In our job, we are in contact with civilians and I want to keep them and Marines around me safe, especially if we get to deploy, this is the best way to do that.” (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Pfc.
