Transportation Services Branch

The HQMC, I&L, LF, LFS/MCICOM G4 Transportation Services Branch establishes and oversees garrison mobile equipment (GME) and non-tactical vehicle (NTV) management policies for the entire Marine Corps’ fleet. The Branch centrally manages the procurement of all automotive passenger and cargo vehicles, along with engineering and material handling equipment. There are over 12,500 transportation assets consisting of Marine Corps-owned, General Services Administration (GSA)-leased and commercially-leased items. The Transportation Services Branch plans, programs, budgets, and executes the funding to procure all Marine Corps GME and NTV assets.

Additionally, the Transportation Services Branch directly manages the Garrison Transportation and Management program for Deputy Commandant, Installations and Logistics and for MCICOM. This program allows the Marine Corps to manage personnel, maintenance, and operations of all commercial transportation activity aboard Marine Corps installations and Marine Forces Reserves (MARFORRES).

The Transportation Services Branch is directly involved in efforts to meet Legislative, Presidential, and Department of the Navy energy mandates and goals. Through inventory management, fuel infrastructure development, and new fleet management techniques, the Marine Corps continues to be a leader among federal fleets. The Transportation Services Branch also created a Mobility Transformation initiative, an innovative effort intended to make official and personal travel on bases smarter, cheaper, more accessible, and more efficient.
